What is this?
Icon a Day is a daily design challenge. Every day I post a brief for a made-up app, company or brand, and anyone can design an icon for it and share it. Use paper, a design tool or the editor, whatever you like. I started it because I noticed that with AI I was more productive, but I was thinking less, being less creative and doing less with my own hands. Creativity is like any muscle: if I don't train it, it atrophies. So this is my daily workout, and you're welcome to join. Vote for your favourites and the most-voted icon wins the day.

Tidemark
A day planner that schedules tasks around your natural energy highs and lows
Entries close in 21 hr 22 min.
- Brief
- Tidemark asks how you feel a few times a day and learns your rhythm, then slots deep work into your high tides and admin into the ebb. It's built for freelancers and anyone whose best hours don't line up with nine-to-five. Nothing is ever 'overdue' here; tasks simply wash back to the next good window.
- Direction
- The mood is calm and unhurried, with a little of the coast in it. Explore the high-water line left on a harbour wall, a tide gauge post, or a curve that rises and falls within a single stroke. Soft blues and sand tones suit it. Leave the generic wave emoji and the tick in a circle to other planners; this one should feel reassuring.
- Constraint
- Use a single continuous line
Human-made only. Use AI for ideas if it helps. The icon you post has to be your own work.
