Welcome to macOSicons.com. The site is built and run by me, Elías Ruiz Monserrat. By using macOSicons — browsing and downloading icons, submitting your own, or creating icons with the editor — you agree to these terms. If you use the macOSicons API, the API Terms of Service also apply. If you don't agree with these terms, don't use the service.
This document covers your use of macOSicons. For how I collect, use, and share your personal data — including the third-party processors involved, such as Stripe for payments and the AI providers used by the editor — see the Privacy Policy.
Legal notice
macOSicons.com is operated by Elías Ruiz Monserrat, NIF [NIF], [postal address], Spain. Contact: elias.ruiz.monserrat@gmail.com.
I'm not a member of any professional association, and I don't currently adhere to any alternative dispute resolution body (Ley 7/2017).
1. The service
macOSicons.com lets you browse and download macOS app icons shared by the community, submit icons you've made, and design your own icons with the built-in editor. Some features require an account, and some are part of paid plans. Ideas and suggestions you post on the feedback board or send me can be used to improve the service without any obligation to you.
2. Your account
- You're responsible for your account and for keeping your password safe. Anything done from your account is treated as done by you.
- Give me accurate information when you sign up, and don't impersonate anyone else.
- I may suspend or delete accounts that break these terms or abuse the service.
- You must be at least 14 to create an account, and at least 18 (or have a parent's or guardian's permission) to buy a paid plan.
3. Submitting icons
When you submit an icon to macOSicons, you keep full ownership and copyright of your work. To make the service work, you grant me the rights needed to share it:
- You confirm you created the icon or otherwise have the rights to share it here, including any source artwork it's based on.
- You grant macOSicons.com a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, convert, resize, display, and distribute your icon through the website, the macOSicons API, and third-party apps and integrations built on the API (for example launchers and icon-customization tools), so that people can find, download, and apply it.
- This license is what lets an icon you upload show up in search, be downloaded as an .icns file, or be applied through tools like the Raycast extension. It doesn't transfer ownership, it doesn't limit what you can do with your own work, and it doesn't ask you to waive your moral rights.
- Attribution travels with your icon: the credit you provide is shown on the site and returned through the API, and integrations are required to preserve it.
- You can delete your submissions at any time, which removes them from the site and the API. Copies people already downloaded, and caches in third-party integrations, may persist for a while.
- I review submissions before they're published, and I may edit metadata on, decline, or remove any submission for quality, duplication, legal, or moderation reasons. These decisions are made by me, not by an automated system. If I decline or remove your submission, I'll tell you why, and you can reply by email.
- This license applies to all submissions, including those made before the "last updated" date above. If you submitted before that date and don't agree to this license, you can delete your icons from your account or contact me and I'll remove them for you.
4. Downloading and using icons
- Icons remain the property of their creators. Many are fan-made alternatives for existing apps; the underlying trademarks and original artwork belong to their respective owners.
- You may download icons and apply them to apps on your devices for personal use, free of charge.
- If a creator attaches a specific license to an icon, that license governs. Where none is stated, icons are shared for personal customization — if you want to use one commercially (for example as the shipping icon of your own app), get permission from its creator.
- Don't repackage or resell the icon library, in whole or in part, as your own product.
5. The icon editor
- Anything you create in the editor is yours. I claim no ownership over your designs.
- Your documents and projects are stored in your workspace so you can come back to them. Documents you share for collaboration are visible to the people you share them with, who can edit and copy them. Icons you submit to the library from the editor are submissions under section 3.
- Some editor features use AI, such as generating images or chatting with the assistant. Prompts and images you submit to those features are processed by third-party AI providers to produce the result. Don't submit content that's unlawful or that you don't have the right to use.
- AI output is generated for you as-is. It may be inaccurate, and it may resemble existing artwork, logos, or trademarks; similar output may be generated for other people. You're responsible for checking that your use of generated artwork is appropriate and lawful, especially before using it commercially. Your rights in AI output are whatever applicable law and the model provider's terms allow; I claim none.
- AI features have usage limits that depend on your plan.
- Don't use the AI features to create sexual content involving minors, realistic depictions of real people without their consent, or anything that breaks the model provider's usage policies. Images generated with AI may be labelled as such in the editor and in exported metadata.
6. Paid plans and billing
- Paid plans unlock things like higher AI limits, multiple projects, an ad-free experience, and higher API quotas. Payments are handled by Stripe; I never see or store your card details. Prices include VAT where it applies, and invoices are available from the Stripe customer portal.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
- If prices or what's included in a plan change, I'll give notice before it affects a renewal.
7. Refunds, credits, and your right to withdraw
- If you're a consumer in the EU, you have 14 days from a purchase to withdraw from a subscription or credit pack without giving a reason. Because access starts immediately, by completing checkout you ask me to start right away and acknowledge that you lose the right to withdraw for the part you've already used. If you withdraw within those 14 days, I'll refund the unused part within 14 days using your original payment method.
- Purchased credits don't expire while your account exists. If you delete your account, unused credits are forfeited. If I close your account for breaking these terms, I refund unused purchased credits only where the law requires it.
- If I ever shut down macOSicons+, I'll give at least 30 days' notice and refund unused purchased credits pro rata.
8. Acceptable use
- Don't upload content that is unlawful, hateful, or malicious, or that you know infringes someone else's rights.
- Don't abuse the infrastructure: no scraping or bulk-downloading the library outside the API, and no circumventing rate limits or access controls.
- Don't use the service to spam, harass, or impersonate others.
- Don't interfere with the operation or security of the service.
9. Reports and takedowns
You can report any icon from its page. If you believe content on the site infringes your copyright or trademark, email me with a link to the content and a statement that you own or represent the rights, and I'll take it down promptly. I'll tell the uploader why their icon was removed, and they can reply. Repeat infringers lose their accounts. The contact address below is also my point of contact for users and authorities under the EU Digital Services Act.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
macOSicons is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. I run the service with care, but I can't promise it will always be available or error-free, or that any icon meets your requirements. If you're a consumer, this disclaimer doesn't affect your statutory rights, including your rights regarding the conformity of digital content and services.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, I'm not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from your use of the service. My total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid me in the twelve months before the claim, or 50 EUR if you haven't paid anything. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or wilful misconduct, or for anything else that can't be limited under applicable law. If you're a consumer, these terms don't affect your statutory rights.
12. Termination
You can stop using the service or delete your account at any time; deleting your account removes your submissions as described in section 3. I may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive — the license covering copies already distributed, disclaimers, and liability limits — survive termination.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by Spanish law. Any dispute arising from them will be submitted to the competent courts of Spain, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have under the law of your country of residence.
14. Changes to these terms
I may update these terms from time to time. For material changes I'll email account holders at least 15 days before they take effect and post a notice on the site. If you don't agree, you can close your account before the change takes effect; if you're on a paid plan, I'll refund the unused part of the period you paid for. Non-material changes, such as clarifications and typo fixes, take effect when posted. These terms are written in English; translations are provided for convenience, and the English version prevails if they differ.
